BAHAR

'The spring festivals (Newroz/Nevruz/Navroz, Hampartzum, Hıdrellez/Ederlez, Rozelya Day etc.) have a shared significance for the peoples and religions of Anatolia, Mesopotamia and Thrace: Rebirth. A tradition extending back over thousands of years, spring festivals express reawakening with nature, hope, expectations, and the belief that 'we will die but will be resurrected.' Though their dates vary, these festivals are always marked by celebrations, and it is believed that spring festivals will bring joy and happiness to all living creatures. As in earlier albums, this album too is comprised of songs and compositions in the many different languages of Anatolia and expressing the variety of religious beliefs there. With these songs, our wish is to celebrate together the arrival of spring, and greet the new day with renewed hope. For us, these songs give new vitality to the hope that all languages, religions and cultures, with all their differences, will be able to coexist.
